It has various types of species which Sorghum bicolor is mostly widely grown because of its natural properties. It is grown in tropical, semi-tropical and arid regions of the world, which is peculiar in the northern part of Nigeria. It is commonly consumed as meal, used for brewing and also as animal feed.

Sesame Seeds

Sesame Seeds (Sesamum indicum ) is a flowering plant in the genus sesamum, also called Benne. It is widely naturalised in tropical regions around the world and cultivated for its edible seeds which grow in pods.
Sesame seeds is one of the oldest oil seed crops known. It has one of the highest oil contents of any seed. With a rich, nutty flavour it is a common ingredient in cuisines across the world. The seeds come in a variety of colors like white, which is the most widely used seeds in markets, yellow, black and red.

Cashew Nuts

The Cashew tree (Anacardium occidentale) is a tropical evergreen tree that produces the cashew nuts and the cashew apple. The major production of cashew occurs in four countries which Nigeria is one of them.
The cashew nut, often simply called cashew, is widely consumed. It is eaten on its own, used in recipes or processed into cashew cheese or cashew butter. The shell of the used cashew seed yields derivatives that can be used in many application including lubricants, waterproofing, paints and many more.

Groundnuts or Pea nut (Arachis hypogaea) is a major crop grown in the arid and semi- arid zone of Nigeria. It is either grown for its nut, oil or its vegetative residue. It is the 13th most important food crop of the world and the 4th most important source of edible oil. The seeds contain high quality edible oil (50%), easily digestible protein (25%) and carbohydrate (20%)

African Walnut

Kola nuts 

Kola nuts is the fruit of the kola tree, a genus (cola) of trees that are native to the tropical rainforest of Africa. The caffeine containing fruit of the tree is used as a flavouring ingredient in beverages.

Bitter kola (Garcinia kola) is a medium sized forest tree found in West and Central African also found in large quantities in South , East and Western states of Nigeria. It is used in natural and orthodox medicine



Garlic (Allium sativum) is a species in the onion genus. The crop consist of underground bulb and vegetative shoot which consists of leaves and flower. It has long been a common seasoning worldwide. The garlic plant bulb is commonly used part of the plant as spice, flavouring and seasoning and also for medicinal purposes. It's pungent smell could be unpleasant when perceived fresh.

Shea Butter

Shea butter is a slightly yellow or ivory coloured natural fat extracted fronm the seeds of the African Shea tree. It is widely used in cosmetics as moisturiser and salve.
Shea nuts are primarily grown in West and Central African in the semi- arid sahel. There are various grades of raw Shea butter and ranges front cream to grayish yellow and pure white. The grade A retain the most vitamin (A and E). Nigeria is the leading producer of Shea nut and butter in the world.
They are available in Grade A, B and C.


Cocoa Beans 

Cocoa trees flourish in regions with high temperature and distributed rainfall. Nigeria is the world's fourth largest producer of Cocoa. There are over 20 species in the genus but the Cocoa tree (Theobromine cacao) is the only one cultivated widely.
Cocoa beans is used for a wide range of items which include food, drinks and cosmetics.
